Our
basic package has been developed for those who want to discover
the Great North and most especially the George River,
with its beautiful valley, powerful rapids, past and present inhabitants
and finally its flora of a surprising variety.

You will discover this part of our country through many excursions
on the river and treks in chosen areas of our vast territory of
more than 100 km. We will show you the Hades Mountains,
go to the northern limit of our territory, the 57th parallel,
visit the Valley of the Falcoz River and its emerald green
waters. We will then bring you south , to the Indian River
Valley (traditional camping site of the Natives), to the High
Cliff Mountain and naturally to this immense lake on the George
: the Indian House Lake.
You will be in full security all the time and every evening, you
will come back to our beautiful lodge to enjoy first class dining
and comfort of our log cabins. Our guides will be with
you to discover all the richness of this harsh land. You will
travel through the powerful rapids of the George, discover
the road of the first explorers, visit ancient and traditional
camping sites of the first natives inhabiting this country
and enjoy encounters with caribou, bear, wolf, fox, porcupine,
marten, etc...
Ornithologists,
you will be surprised. The Valley of the George is a natural
habitat for several species of birds. The ptarmigan is
ever present on the land, some species of sandpipers live
there also. The arctic tern is there in July and the Canada
geese cross the territory in the spring and in the fall. The
valley is also visited by several species of ducks and
by birds of prey like the bald eagle, the peregrine
falcon, the osprey, the snowy owl, and many
other kinds of falcons and owls.
Photographers, be ready ! Spectacular scenery. Direct
contact with animals, especially the caribou : not scared
at all of man and very curious, this magnificent animal is always
ready for photography. There is also a very impressive variety
of natural flowers, fruits and mushrooms. Everything
is there ready to be immortalized on film depending on seasons,
weather and
good fortune.
